Compared With PVC waterproof  membrane, TPO waterproof membrane seems more rigid, and TPO can bear higher puncture, TPO has some failure in its first generation, but now it’s much better. Another benefits of TPO is when you welding them, no unhealthy smokes appear. With fireproof additive added, TPO can resistance to fire just the same as PVC does. And TPO doesn’t have a plasticizer problem which PVC does.

TPO have better performance in thermo stabilization and low temperature flexibility, with the same volume, TPO weights lower than PVC, means TPO have lower density.

But if you are using TPO membrane on roof along side a sea, you’d better not expose it, seegulls like to drop quahogs, crabs and lobsters onto hard surfaces. When they see a nice, white, flat roof they'll bombard it. But the worse part is when they get down there to start eating, they peck with their sharp beaks trying to break apart the shells. They probably like to poke a few holes through rubber.
