PVC and HDPE are widely produced as geomembrane, and geomembrane’s failures are most taken place in friction damage, the harder and more rigidity the geomembrane, the less likely be damaged. Along all geomembranes, EPDM geomembranes are most flexible, PVC geomembranes in middle, HDPE geomembranes are most rigidity. But usually EPDM is rare. And usually field welding is most likely for failures, so as PVC is much flexible, more welding can be done before transport to site because PVC can be folded, then, PVC need as least as only 20% of welding compare with HDPE. The advantage of HDPE is, when you finish the construction, HDPE performs better and have longer service life.
