                                                       Geosynthetic Clay Liner

Geosynthetic Clay Liner(GCL) is a new waterproofing material. It has excellent waterproofing performance. The lower the hydraulic conductivity the more effective the GCL will be at retaining seepage inside of the landfill. A general GCL construction would consist of two layers of geosynthetics stitched together enclosing a layer of processed sodium bentonite. Typically, woven and/or non-woven textile geosynthetics are used.

Geosynthetic Clay Liner(GCL) can shorten the construction period.Because it needn't to the protective geotextile and the waterproofing geomembrane. In landfill application, a GCL liner system is usually thinner than a liner system such as involving the use of clay, which enable us construct landfills to the  maximize capacity. That is why GCLs are most popular in regions where clay is not readily available.
